A business venture can be established as a Corporation. Thus, a separate legal identity from its shareholders, acts in its own capacity and can exist into perpetuity.
A Corporation is a Company, and it is probably one of the most common methods to organise a business activity. When founded a Company has a distinct legal structure, becomes a legal entity in its own right, separate from the owners. This process is known as Incorporation. A company has a set of documents that collectively enable it to be recognised under local laws. One of the documents is the Articles of Association. Another is the Share Certificates, representing the Corporation’s Common Stock, thus ownership. A Corporation has the capacity to issue Stock, raise capital, to list on the local Stock Market, to trade, to open bank accounts, completely separate from its owners. Also, a company can exist into perpetuity, well beyond the natural life of its founders.
