The Board of Governors at the Federal Reserve Bank consists of seven members, known as the Federal Reserve Board (Board) one of whom will be the Chairman. The Board is charged with governing the Federal Reserve System with all the Board members having the following mandate “fair representation of the financial, agricultural, industrial, and commercial interests and geographical divisions of the country.” The members of the FRB are appointed by the sitting President of the United States, and their term runs for 14 years. One of the most famous Chairman of the FRB was Mr. Greenspan. He was the 13th Chairman serving from August 1987 to January 2006.
