In researching Stocks, Qualitative Analysis refers to the use of subjective inputs to analyse a Company’s valuation and outlook. The inputs are almost like a survey focusing on intentions, opinions, and attitudes, and could involve intangible and inexact information. The analysis could include an assessment of Senior Management, the representation on the Board of Directors, Economic Scenarios, Industry dynamics such as the level of competition, product diversification and Labour market factors. Qualitative Analysis, while somewhat esoteric, is important and can confirm or maybe dispute conclusions previously drawn.
